The bungalows and guesthouses are clustered near the village at the east end of the beach, where there are also seafood restaurants, a dive shop and souvenir shops. The beach is better and less crowded toward the western end, especially on weekends when the section near the village tends to fill up with locals and day trippers from Bangkok. However, Goa, like everywhere in India, is never quite what you expect. In places the infamous hash-fuelled days of Goa’s golden hippy years are still alive and kicking, especially around Vagator & Chopora, while in others, like Calangute & Baga, the all-inclusive package holiday is king. But these are two very narrow sides of the Goan experience and anyone who spends much time here will discover that Goa contains more variety and vitality than almost anywhere else in India. Head into Panaji (Panjim), one of India’s smallest and most likeable state capitals, and, instead of self-contained tourist resorts and trinket-selling dreadlocks, you’ll discover a Portuguese pantry of flaking architectural delicacies spiced up with Indian exuberance. Inland, you can stand in greener-than-green fields picking vanilla pods, bathe with elephants or visit market towns like Mapusa.

The main draws of Goa are the beaches, such as Anjuna, which are every bit as cliché-beautiful as they’re supposed to be, but just as much of an attraction is its intriguing fusion of colonial Portugal and modern India. There is almost nowhere else in India where the influence of the former colonial overlords remains as strong as it does in Goa and it’s not at all unusual to find crucifixes hanging on walls next to posters of Shiva and groups of elderly Goan men conversing in Portuguese. Wander the majestic, time-worn cathedrals and basilicas of Old Goa, for a fascinating insight into this colonial legacy. Goa may not be as cool as it once was but it’s certainly just as magical.
Fast Facts about Goa

* Main languages

Konkani, Marathi, English and Hindi
In fact, all things considered, it barely qualifies as part of Africa: the two are separated by hundreds of kilometres of sea and 165 million years of evolution – long enough for Madagascar’s plants and animals to evolve into some of the weirdest forms on the planet. Nowhere else can you see over 70 varieties of lemur, including one that sounds like a police siren, the world’s biggest and smallest chameleons, and the last stomping ground of the elephant bird, the largest bird that ever lived. Near Ifaty in Southern Madagascar you will see forests of twisted, spiny ‘octopus’ trees and in the west, marvel at the bottle-shaped baobabs, especially the Avenue du Boabab near Morondava. And be on the look out for the carnivorous pitcher plant found around Ranomafana, there are over 60 varieties of them. Not for nothing is Madagascar regarded as the world’s number one conservation priority.

Remember Madagaskar Movie?? It is a bay in crescent shape with a beach length about 7.5 kilometers and the water area of the bay is about 66 square kilometers. The sand on the beach is white and soft, the sea is crystal-like blue and you may see through the water to a depth of seven to nine meters. Abundant underwater resources can be found, like kinds of coral reef, beautiful tropical fishes and rare to see shells. The water is quite warm all year round; you may swim and dive here at anytime that the sea surface temperature is 22 to 25 degrees Celsius (about 71 – 76 degrees Fahrenheit). Yalong Bay Beach (亚龙湾) has always been known locally as "The First Bay under the Heaven", which is a paradise on our planet.

Apart from excellent sandy beach, sunny blue sky, clean water and scenic mountains, there are virgin mangrove forest, lines of coco trees, exotic flowers and tropical vegetation. Holiday hotels with different architectural and service styles are juxtaposed along the beach. They look like a brilliant pearl embedded on Yalong Beach with shining beauty. Now Sanya's Yalong Beach has become a business card of Hainan Island's tourism. From an article I read, Puerto Vallarta is tropics region in Mexico - almost the same as the country I live now, Indonesia - and having a similar weather like Hawaii too. Only the different is, if Puerto Vallarta has rain falls the most during July - September, here, the rainy season falls most by November to April.

In the tropics Puerto Vallarta vacation resorts, we can enjoy various kinds of sites to visit. Like we can do the diving into Bahia de Banderas bay ( hey, it reminds me of the actor Antonio Banderas ) by snorkeling or SCUBA gear, or by kayak or boat. Not only that, there are many other masterpiece spots that we can visit. Surrounded by historical buildings in old Spanish architectures and cobblestone streets.

Films industry has taken Puerto Vallarta into consideration too. The Night of the Iguana, Predator, and Puerto Vallarta Squeeze are some films that use Puerto Vallarta as the setting location.

Hmm….sounds like a perfect vacation spot. When can I get there ? ^_^

The Keukenhof Gardens Amsterdam

For 60 years now, Keukenhof has been the most beautiful place in the world, where spring bursts out in all of its colourful majesty.
